Please note the due date for receipt of November Hot Lunch Orders,
in the Maple Grove School office, is October 26, 2011. 

No late orders will be accepted  (see below).

Cheques must be made payable to Vancouver School Board.

Our office is struggling with the number of late orders for hot lunch that are received. It seems that our generous office staff has allowed people to hand in orders late out of a genuine wish that students should not be deprived of the hot lunch they enjoy.

Many, many reminders are given to teachers, parents and students over the PA, in bulletins and in emails. The hot lunch program is not the only area where we experience this culture of “it’s ok to hand in forms late.” Starting in January we are going to be rigid about not accepting late hot-lunch orders. We regret this as we think that it will mean some students do not get their hot lunch for a month. However, we are trying to teach students to take responsibility and we hope that parents are modeling taking responsibility. With a combined effort we can turn this around so that the office staff and those parents who volunteer to make the hot lunch program a success will feel that their efforts are appreciated and respected.

Once again, starting in January, 2011 LATE HOT LUNCH ORDERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
